This is the privacy policy for ShoppingQuery (shoppingquery.com), a product of ShoppingResult BV. We keep it in plain English on purpose.
Who we are

What the service does
ShoppingQuery is a product search engine. You send a product title or a barcode, we ask shops and marketplaces for offers, and we return the results in one JSON schema. Results are fetched live from the shops when we do not have a fresh answer already.
What we process and why

What we do not do
No accounts yet, no payment data, no advertising cookies, no selling of data, no profiling. We do not use Google Analytics on ShoppingQuery.
Shop logos
The consumer portal currently loads small shop logos from Google's favicon service, which means Google sees your IP address and the shop domain. We are moving these logos to our own servers.
Where data goes
Hosting and email providers act as processors under an agreement. Data stays in the EU where we can. Where it does not, we use the standard contractual clauses. Shops and marketplaces we query receive the search term from our servers, never your IP address or any personal data about you.
Your rights
You can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and you can object. Use the contact page for any of these. We answer within one month.
Complaints: the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
Cookies
We set no tracking cookies. The site stores your theme choice and recent searches in your browser's local storage.
Changes
We update this page and its date when something changes.
